Beauty of Organic Interaction

Medical animator David Bolinsky creates a movie to bolster student's understanding of biological processes in the cell. Even though this movie is just a glimpse of intracellular interaction, it nourishes and enriches the sophistication of such knowledge by portraying the cell as a ballet of organic interactions and an elegant continuum of complexity. I hope such visual aesthetics instills an ebullient experience for erudites and dilettantes alike.

Wow muzzy. This was an amazing first post...it was concise, yet elegant. You got it right, where sama failed miserably, haha.

But on a serious not, that is amazing. I feel like those are definitely the kind of teaching tools that would inspire more kids to think of biology, nuerology, and engineering int hose fields as beautiful and elegant instead of just difficult.

I am also glad to say that this type of research is not a new phenomenon (even though this is one of the best examples of it I've seen). I know that Vanderbilt U. has a laboratory specifically for designing new teaching tools.

Magnificent, just magnificent.

I agree. Great first post, Muzzy. I think you expressed exactly what you wanted to in the most succint way (not to mention you used words even I had to take a second look at, haha.)

Teaching tools like these would be really useful in the classroom. I think students tend to focus on the facts they need to learn in difficult classes instead of taking time to visually process the content. It would also be a great way to incite interest in younger students. High school students can visually appreciate engineering and biology (which doesn't happen enough--leading to more college students being interested in the aesthetics as well as the facts. And yes, at the end of the day, engineering is still difficult, but one comes away with a better mindset about the beauty behind what you're doing, making you want to do it more .

Again, wow ---nice post.
